These last years, the foundation’s educators have realised that the average age of the children found alone in the streets of Manila has considerably decreased. Considering the emergency of the situation, Anak-Tnk welcomed these very young children in their existing centers. These centers were originally created for teenagers of the streets most often between the ages of 8 and 15.
On the 23rd December 2012, two young siblings, Matthew and Nicole were abandonned in front of the foundation. This story reminded us of the emergency of the situation and the necessity for the foundation to build an adapted structure for all these young ones.
Conscious of this huge responsibility towards these young children abandonned at such a young age, Anak-Tnk decided to launch a project of a house which would be more adapted to younger children. Thanks to the financial aide of the Swiss non-governmental organisation “HELP FOR HOPE“, this project has finally been able to reach its goal and the new center for both girls and boys opened on the 16th June 2014 for all children under the age of 6. Four philipino employees work there full-time towards the 15 children that have already joined this new center. The total capacity of the center is of 25 children.
