Talk by Rev.Fr.Matthieu Dauchez in France

August 24, 2016 | By |

P1040606 Rev. Fr. Matthieu Dauchez, Executive Director of the TNK Foundation gave a talk in France on “But why is God allowing such things ?”.

A great success!

in Paris , 1400 people came to listen to the lessons of the street children of Manila, last September 29th at église St Jean Baptiste de Grenelle – 75015 Paris

in Lyon, 850 people have attended it last October 12th at église Sainte Croix – 27 rue de Condé – 69002 Lyon.

But why is God allowing such things ? This issue affects everyone without exception. Whether it be the evil, suffering, or death, each and every man is faced with this unanswered question. And when it comes to children, this thought takes a terrible dimension and highlights the “scandal of the evil” in a much more violent way. It ‘s unbearable. Many people have addressed this issue, excusing a God of goodness or rather irrevocably condemning a God that is cruel, but they have all faced an unfathomable mystery.

What if children, most innocent of victims, gave us some of the keys to this mystery ?

18Th Anniversary of the Foundation

August 24, 2016 | By |

Tulay Ng Kabataan celebrated its 18th Foundation Day last August 13, 2016.

The distance we walked with you since 1998 is huge. 18 years full of hope, love, in a family atmosphere, thanks to you…

The way we work that has been built stone after stone has proven its efficiency.

Year after year, the children have given us strength and a desire to carry on and have bigger dreams for them, believe in the future and in their future, thanks to you…

To celebrate this 18th anniversary, the feast started with the Holy Mass celebrated by Rev.Fr.Matthieu Dauchez in Edsa Shrine. After Mass all the foundation gathered in Pedro Poveda College with presentation numbers, videos, food, awarding ceremony and activities. Children and employees of our 4 programs shared this time together, with visitors, friends and sponsors.

Focus on our Street Educator

August 23, 2016 | By |

StreetEd-JasonBeing a street educator is more than just an employment, it is a real vocation.

Creating with the kids a relationship based on trust requires very strong courage and patience and especially with the kids who are disabled. We meet many children everyday, they are all different and unique. New faces, new encounters. The street is our office, our daily place of work. We learn a lot from the kids, in particular how to survive in Manila’s urban jungle and how make do everyday. Our work as educators comprises two main activities. First, the Outreach which is awareness activities in the street. It consists of having two educators striding along the streets in Manila on a daily basis to meet children through games, simple conversations to get to know them better and introduce them to the Foundation. And then, the « Big Nights » which are night tours. A small team made of one educator in charge of the tour, a social worker, a voluntary worker and a driver go along the streets to collect the kids that want to join the Foundation. These are their first steps towards the Foundation and towards healing.

It is a fascinating job in which the kids teach us a lot.
